The shoulder joint is one of the most movable in the body. It is also inherently unstable due to its wide range of motion. When a joint has a high degree of range of motion, it increases the likelihood of injury and can lead to degenerative issues if not properly treated when an injury is suspected.
What is the cause?
Tendinitis, rotator cuff tears, bursitis and impingement syndrome are all possible causes of shoulder pain. We are highly trained to diagnose and treat all of these causes of shoulder pain and more.
What are the symptoms?
Often patients report a general feeling of weakness when using the affected arm associated with the shoulder. Symptoms can range from sharp shooting pain down the arm to a localized dull ache.
Tests
We can perform orthopedic tests that will determine if x-rays or further evaluation by an MRI is needed.
Treatment
We have treating many simple to complicated issues involving the shoulder. Once a diagnosis is determined, we can then get to work establishing an exercise and stretching program that will enhance the recovery process.
