The Graston Technique (GT) therapy is successful in effectively treating almost all soft tissue conditions, whether they are chronic, acute or post-surgery. Graston

The unique technique and instruments enable the treatment of scar tissue and fascial restrictions for faster rehabilitation and with greater success of recovery when the goal is restoring range of motion, eliminating pain and restoring normal function.

Graston Technique was originally designed by athletes, for athletes, to address scar tissue and fascial restriction.

Dr. Petersen will glide the tools over your body, looking for adhesions. When he finds an adhesions, he will continue to glide the tools over your body for a series of passes, with the purpose of breaking up the adhesion. In doing so, the intent is that you experience less pain and increased flexibility.

GT breaks up scar tissue fibers and smooths the tissue underneath. It can increase your range of motion and decreased the inflammation and pain and speed up the recovery time.

Dr. Petersen has been trained in the Graston Technique therapy. The importance of proper training when performing GT cannot be overstated, and covers everything from the basic physiological principles of the technique to the proper use of instruments and how to apply it to soft tissue injuries.
